Input Types

For proteins that already archived in the UniProt database, users can input official gene symbol, UniProt accession number, or UniProt entry name of a protein from any of the following seven species:  Homo sapiens,  Rattus norvegicus,  Mus musculus, Drosophila melanogaster,  Caenorhabditis elegans,  Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Arabidopsis thaliana. After users input and click "Submit" button, AbDesigner3D will then display the heat map and protein structure(s) results in the tab "Graphical Result" (see Explore graphical results using interactive specialized viewer section).

Protein structures from the PDB (Protein Data Bank) database can be input in AbDesigner3D using "Structure Input" option. User can type PDB ID following by "_" and the peptide chain ID. For example, "4LOL_A" is the protein structure id 4LOL with chain A. Please note that by using this "Structure Input" option, the resulting heat map of AbDesigner3D will be displayed at "Graphical Result (Unmapped to UniProt)". This result is isolated from UniProt database and some features such as uniqueness and conservation scores are not available.

In addition, the "UniProt to PDB Mapping Tool"  also available for finding PDB ID(s) corresponded to an input UniProt accession number or entry name.
